I'm thrilled to share my latest artworks from the book "Secrets Don't Keep Me Safe," which I had the privilege of illustrating.
This book deals with the difficult topic of child sexual abuse and is a therapeutic tool for children and their families. The story takes place in a forest and features young warriors and wizards as its heroes, each with their unique abilities. Their safe and carefree play is interrupted by a character who appears in the forest and intends to harm one of the heroes. A boy confronts a difficult secret as a result.
This marks the exceptional debut of the talented author Latrice Bankhead and is the first book in a series.
"Secrets Don't Keep Me Safe" has already garnered significant attention in the United States, with many adults reaching out to the author to share their own difficult experiences with childhood abuse. This underscores the significance of the book and its message.
As an illustrator, I am proud to have contributed to such an important project and hope that my artwork helps bring the story to life for readers.
